Evening Sewing Workshops for Adults

Have you always wanted to learn to sew but never got around to it?
Maybe you’ve inherited your grandma’s sewing machine, and it’s been gathering dust?

Our evening sewing workshops are perfect for adults of all ages and abilities who want to learn in a relaxed, inclusive, and fun environment.

* Sewing Foundations – Perfect for Total Beginners

Date: Thursday, 20 November · 6:15 – 9:15 pm
Price: $180 (everything provided)
Location: Keon Park Children’s Hub, Reservoir

In this relaxed introduction to sewing, you’ll:

  • Learn to confidently thread and use a sewing machine (plus plenty of handy tips!)

  • Hem trousers neatly (warning: your family may start asking you to hem theirs—keep it between us!)

  • Watch a demonstration of the most common mending techniques

  • Make a stylish Lido Tote Bag (as featured in TAUKO magazine) using a vintage pure wool blanket

Perfect for complete beginners or anyone wanting a refresher. You’ll leave confident, equipped, and inspired to keep sewing at home.

* Sewing Progression – For Those Ready to Level Up

Date: Thursday, 27 November · 6:15 – 9:15 pm
Price: $180 (everything provided)
Location: Keon Park Children’s Hub, Reservoir

If you’ve completed Sewing Foundations or already know the basics, this class is for you! You’ll:

  • Troubleshoot and care for your sewing machine

  • Learn how to use a zipper foot

  • Read and sew from commercial paper and PDF patterns

  • Make a practical Bum Bag and take home the pattern & tutorial to sew again later

You’ll leave with new skills, a handmade accessory, and the confidence to tackle your own sewing projects.

Special Offer: Enrol in both classes and get 10% off the second class!

All materials and sewing machines are provided.
Learning to make and mend your own clothes is a simple, joyful step toward living more sustainably.

Note: These workshops are a one-off for 2025.
If they prove popular, I’ll add them to our regular schedule next year, and may even introduce a garment-making class.
Your feedback is always welcome!

Can’t wait to sew with you!
