Little Stitch Academy offers private, hands-on sewing parties and events in Melbourne, perfect for celebrating special occasions in a creative and relaxed way.

Hosted in our fully equipped Preston sewing studio, our events are suitable for kids, adults, and mixed-age groups, and are guided from start to finish by an experienced instructor.

From kids’ birthday parties and hens celebrations to baby showers, team building workshops and private group events, each session is beginner-friendly and designed for guests to create something meaningful to take home.

What’s Included

All private sewing parties and events run for 3 hours and include everything your group needs:

- Sewing machines and tools

- Fabrics, patterns, threads and trims

- A dedicated sewing instructor

- A guided, beginner-friendly project

- A handmade item for each guest to take home

- Tea and coffee in our refreshment area

Little Stitch Academy is a non-alcoholic venue.

Your booking includes up to 8 guests.If you’d like to invite additional guests, we can accommodate them with an extra staff member at $40 per additional student. Additional guests must be discussed in advance and will be invoiced separately.

Setup, Workshop & Pack-Down Time

Each booking includes setup and pack-down, depending on the time slot you select:

Morning Session – 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

- Access from 9:30 am to set up and decorate

- Workshop from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (sharp) — guests should arrive at 10:00 am

- Cake and drinks break included

- Pack-down from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm

Afternoon Session – 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm

- Access from 1:30 pm to set up and decorate

- Workshop from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm  — guests should arrive at 2:00 pm

- Cake and drinks break included

- Pack-down from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Evening Session – 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

- Access from 6:00 pm to set up and decorate

- Workshop from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm — guests should arrive at 6:30 pm

- Cake and drinks break included

- Pack-down from 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm

We take care of all cleaning! To help reduce waste, a party box with reusable plates and cutlery is available, optional, but a great way to cut down on single-use items. Used dishes can go straight in the empty tub provided, and we’ll clean them for you after your party.

Each child creates a project to take home, with hands-on guidance throughout the session.

Suitable for children aged 5 and up. Parents are welcome to join in or relax in our waiting area.

Bonus: Kids go home with a sewing-themed party bag.

After booking, you’ll receive a ready-to-print party invitation to download and share with guests.

Hens Party Sewing Workshops

Celebrate with a relaxed, creative workshop — a unique hens party idea in Melbourne.

Baby Shower Sewing Parties

Food & Drinks (BYO)

We don’t provide catering, but you’re welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks.

A fridge, microwave and air fryer are available. Tea and instant coffee are provided.

You’re also welcome to decorate the studio.

Pricing

- $480 for up to 8 guests (3-hour private event)

- $40 + GST per additional guest, subject to staff availability (invoiced separately)

Includes all equipment, materials, sewing machines, and instruction.
