Join our hands-on school holiday sewing workshops in Melbourne, designed for kids and teens who love making, designing and learning new skills.

Hosted at Little Stitch Academy’s Preston sewing studio, these workshops offer a supportive, engaging environment where children build practical sewing skills, creative confidence and independence — all while having fun.

About the Workshops

Each 3-hour sewing workshop introduces children to sewing machine use and essential sewing techniques, with hands-on guidance throughout.

Participants complete a fun, challenging take-home sewing project using upcycled and sustainable materials, supported by professionally designed course content.

Workshops are taught by a fashion professional and tailored to each child’s age and skill level.

Who Can Participate

These workshops are suitable for school-aged children from 5 years old through to teens (Prep to Year 12).

• Beginners and experienced young sewists welcome

• Projects are adapted to individual skill levels

• Focus on problem-solving, independence and a sense of achievement

Parents do not need to stay during the session, but are welcome to relax in our parent area.

Power points are available if you’d like to work while you wait.

Full-Day Option

Want a full day of creativity?

Families can book both the morning and afternoon sessions.

We supervise children during the 1-hour lunch break, with access to:

• An outdoor area

• Playground

• Kitchen facilities

Important Safety & Privacy Information

• For safety reasons, the studio door is locked during class and no entry is permitted while workshops are running.

• We respect the privacy of all children — no photos are taken during class. If you’d like a photo of your child sewing, please speak with us to organise this separately.

• Mobile phones are not permitted during class. Children are asked to keep phones away for the duration of the session.

Missed Workshop Policy

We understand that sometimes life happens! If your child is unable to attend a workshop, we’re happy to help reschedule into another session if space allows.

Please note:

• Spots are limited due to high demand. To give other children on the waitlist a chance to join, please let us know before the session if your child will be absent.

• With at least 7 days’ notice, we can offer a cancellation and refund.

• Make-up sessions and refunds cannot be arranged after an unexplained absence.

• If your child is sick or unable to attend for another reason, contact us as soon as possible—we’ll do our best to fit them into another class if space allows.
